Deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading a bill to amend the Federal Law "On Consumer Credit (Loan)". The document proposes that, in the event of the birth or adoption of a second or subsequent child, parents be given the right to receive "credit holidays" on their mortgage for up to one and a half years.
It should be noted that at present, upon the birth of a child, a borrower is entitled only to a six-month deferment of mortgage payments if their income has fallen by more than 20% and loan servicing costs exceed 40% of average monthly income.
