Laptev: the Capital Repair Fund will face a shortfall of 3.5 billion rubles.

During today’s discussion of amendments to the budget, Yuri Laptev, head of the Kirov Audit Chamber, noted that overall his agency supports the bill but asked that attention be paid to certain shortcomings. First, Laptev proposed allocating more funds for the operation of the Kirov airport than are currently being provided. Second, he pointed out the dire financial condition of the Capital Repair Fund, which will not be helped by the proposed cash injections. According to the Audit Chamber, by the end of the year, taking into account all receipts, the Fund’s shortfall could amount to roughly 3.5 billion rubles. These are obligations under contracts already concluded. The speaker also emphasized that as of September 12 only 400,000 rubles remained in the Fund’s accounts.
