They want to transfer Donaurovo to Kilmezsky District.
Today members of the Legislative Assembly committee considered a bill to change the boundaries of the Kilmezsky and Urzhumsky districts. It is proposed that it be adopted in two readings.
The proposal concerns the transfer, effective January 1, 2026, of the territory of the Donaurovskoye rural settlement — and the settlement of Donaurovo in particular — to the Kilmezsky district. It is currently part of the Urzhumsky district. The reason is that Donaurovo is much closer to Kilmez than to Urzhum, as well as the presence of a river separating the settlement from the Urzhumsky district, and the absence of bus service to the district center.
As was learned, a year ago in a referendum the population of Donaurovo supported the initiative. However, the margin was small — 97 in favor, 80 against.
The committee unanimously supported the bill. The final decision will be made at the Legislative Assembly’s plenary session on Thursday.
