The KChKhK branch supported the organization of children's tournaments in Kirovo-Chepetsk.

      The team judo competition in memory of Denis Pletnev, who heroically died in Chechnya in the line of duty, was traditionally held on City Day — this year for the 16th time. Nine teams came to the tournament from the Kirov Region, Perm Krai and the Chuvash Republic. The KChKhK branch has supported the holding of these competitions for more than 10 years. First and second places were taken by teams from Cheboksary, and third by the Perm Krai team.

      This past weekend the 56th Greco-Roman wrestling tournament was held, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Kirovo-Chepetsk. Two hundred and fifty-five young men took part in the competition. For the first time, girls also participated in the events organized by the city Federation of Greco-Roman Wrestling, which is also celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. Athletes represented the Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod and Sverdlovsk regions, Perm Krai, and the republics of Mari El, Komi, Bashkortostan, Udmurtia and Tatarstan. Young men and women from Kirovo-Chepetsk won 17 medals of various distinction.

      Andrey Mityashin, deputy head of the technological equipment repair shop at the KChKhK branch of JSC OHK Uralchem, deputy of the Kirovo-Chepetsk City Duma:

      “Supporting youth sports is one of the priority areas of Uralchem’s social policy. In addition to judo and Greco-Roman wrestling tournaments, we also support hockey, football, swimming and other sports. It is important to us that the younger generation develop fully, broadly and be healthy, and projects like these are the best way to achieve that.”
