Kirov Oblast's wage purchasing power fell short of the average.

      In the second quarter of 2025, Kirov Oblast ranked 59th out of 85 regions in a ranking by the ratio of net median salary to the cost of a fixed basket of goods and services. According to the study, the net median salary in the region was 50,377 rubles. This amount is enough for 2.2 fixed baskets of goods and services. By comparison, the nationwide average is higher — 2.6.

      Northern regions lead the ranking: Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (5.1 baskets), Chukotka (4.3), Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Magadan Oblast (4 each), and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra (3.8).

      The outsiders were Kalmykia, Crimea, Sevastopol, Altai Krai and a number of North Caucasus republics, where salaries cover no more than two fixed baskets. Overall, in 24 Russian regions the purchasing power of salaries was equal to or above the average level. Kirov Oblast was not among them.
