"Red flags" of employers: young people in Kirov Oblast named the main warning signs

Based on a hh.ru study, the main signs of an unreliable employer were identified that most often alarm young people in the Kirov region. The main "red flags" local jobseekers name are vague job descriptions and constant overtime — 71% of respondents each. In second place are negative employee reviews (59%), followed by unethical behavior during interviews (47%), "grey" salaries or work without formal employment (40%), and an overly long list of requirements (40%).

Compared with national averages, Kirov residents more often point to the problem of overtime (71% vs. 62%) and negative company reviews (59% vs. 55%). A ban on remote work or flexible hours is also perceived more sharply here — 42% vs. 36% across Russia.

The study also showed gender differences: women pay more attention to inappropriate communication during interviews (56% vs. 43% for men), as well as to the absence of a flexible work format. Men, however, react more strongly to high staff turnover (39.5% vs. 33.3%).

At the same time, different factors come to the fore in different fields:

in IT and law — vague job conditions (over 80%),

in the creative industries — company reputation and employee reviews (68%),

in medicine and pharmaceuticals — overtime (64%),

in retail — "grey" salary (45%).

Thus, young residents of the region primarily value clarity of terms, fair distribution of workload and the possibility of flexible work, and also expect additional guarantees and compensation from the employer.
