Simakov and Sokolov prayed for the people of Kirov.

      The service was conducted by Metropolitan Mark of Vyatka and Slobodskoy. The region’s top officials gathered at the event: Governor Alexander Sokolov, head of administration Vyacheslav Simakov, Mayor Elena Kovaleva, representatives of public organizations and ordinary townspeople.

      According to the metropolitan, Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky is a symbol of the nation, and his prayerful intercession will help the people of Kirov endure any trials.

      “Today we ask that Prince Alexander Nevsky be not only our heavenly patron, but also grant strength for the further strengthening of the state and the Vyatka land,” the metropolitan said.

      As part of the spiritual day, Alexander Sokolov managed to visit the church in Chistye Prudy, where he prayed for the defenders and for the “approach of Victory.”
