A landfill of municipal solid waste covering about 300 square meters has been cleared at SNT "Chizhegi" in the Kirovo-Chepetsky District. Among the trash, specialists found mercury lamps, which are classified as hazardous waste. The dump was discovered in June during a scheduled inspection of the area. The Ministry of Environmental Protection filed a lawsuit against SNT "Chizhegi", demanding that the site be cleaned up. The association's management decided to remedy the violation before the start of legal proceedings. This allowed the ministry to withdraw its claims.
