WHO: more than 80% of deaths in Russia are linked to chronic diseases

According to him, the main contributors to mortality statistics are cardiovascular diseases, malignant tumors, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes. These diseases account for over 80% of all deaths in the country, RT.ru reports.

Berdyklychev emphasized that the development of such diseases is promoted by smoking, alcohol abuse, high salt intake, poor diet, high blood pressure and air pollution.

How to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease

Give up smoking and limit alcohol. These habits directly increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Reduce salt in your diet. The recommended amount is no more than 5 g per day.

Monitor your blood pressure and blood sugar. Regular checks help detect abnormalities in time.

Be more active. 30 minutes of walking or light exercise a day reduce the risk of heart disease.

Balance your diet. Vegetables, fruits, whole grains and fish help maintain vascular health.

Pay attention to air quality. If possible, ventilate rooms and use air purifiers.
