Russian resorts are breaking safety records: which regions have become leaders in peaceful getaways

      According to a study based on an analysis of tourists' claims during the spring–summer season of 2025, Russian resorts have significantly improved their safety indicators. No more than 5% of the total number of insurance cases were attributable to domestic tourism, which confirms an increase in the quality of service and infrastructure. This was reported by volga.news with reference to the insurance company VSK.

      The list of cities with the most insurance claims was led by Adler (41%), followed by Sochi (20%), St. Petersburg (16%), the settlement of Loo (5%) and Moscow (4%). Conversely, the safest were Tuapse (0.4%), Gelendzhik, Arkhyz, Mineralnye Vody and Pyatigorsk (0.9% each).

      Medical statistics revealed the typical problems affecting holidaymakers:

      digestive disorders (26% of cases);

      leg injuries (14%);

      ear pain (9%) and abdominal pain (6%);

      head injuries (6.5%) and arm injuries (5.8%);

      animal bites (2%, mostly ticks).

      The peak in claims fell in July (49% of cases), which is associated with maximum resort occupancy at the height of the season. June showed significantly lower figures (34%).

      Specialists paid particular attention to children's recreation — 18% of all claims were related to incidents involving minors. This underscores the importance of increased attention to child safety at resorts.

      Experts note that the improvement in safety indicators is due both to the development of resort infrastructure and to a rise in the culture of responsible recreation among Russians. Regional authorities and tour operators continue working to create comfortable and safe conditions for domestic tourism.
