On September 21, a fountain in Kirov will be officially opened, and 5sta Family will perform.
The festivities will begin in the morning with a morning exercise session. During the day there will be a prayer service for the city's well‑being, concerts at the philharmonic, the closing of the motorcycle season at Theater Square, and the All‑Russian Running Day in Veresniki.
Particular attention will be focused on the opening of a new fountain — a gift from Sberbank for the city's anniversary. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM in Kirov Park. According to Alexey Zherdev, the first deputy chairman of the regional government, viewers can expect a musical prologue featuring opera singer Polina Kulikova and twenty stand‑up paddleboarders in swan costumes.
This will be followed by the light‑and‑music show "Rebirth of a Legend," during which Viktor Vasnetsov's paintings will be brought to life using a neural network. The show will be complemented by pyrotechnics and laser effects. The evening will conclude with a concert by the well‑known pop group 5sta Family.
Around a hundred portable toilets will be installed on the streets. Due to the celebrations, a section of Oktyabrsky Prospekt from Vorovsky to Azin (in the Circus area) and Pionerov Lane by Alexandrovsky Garden, where a vintage car exhibition will be held, will be closed.
At a press conference dedicated to City Day it was reported that Kirov is generally ready for the celebration; however, communal services are preparing for the heating season, so some excavations will remain on September 21 and 22. Residents are asked to treat public amenities and lawns with care and not to rush from events to the circus to see the fountain, since the broadcast will be shown on screens in various parts of the city and will also be streamed in the administration's VKontakte group.
From September 23 the new fountain will operate daily.
