The Kirov Transport Prosecutor’s Office conducted an inspection of compliance with safety requirements on inland water transport. During the inspection, violations were found aboard one of the tugboats: mandatory lifesaving and navigational equipment were missing, the emergency alarm was inoperative, and the procedures for refueling and providing first aid had not been regulated. At the prosecutor’s request, the violations were rectified. Subsequently, the Arbitration Court of the Kirov Region held the shipping company administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 14.43 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of technical regulations) and imposed a fine of 20,000 rubles. Prosecutor’s representatives noted that the measures are aimed at improving safety and ensuring compliance with legislation on inland waterways.
