A Kirov officer used his body to shield the fighters and destroyed an enemy drone.

      In May 2025 an officer was overseeing the relocation of mortar crews to new positions. When a group of enemy UAVs approached the unit, Evgeny B. ordered his men to take cover and took the hit himself. One of the drones was rapidly closing in on the servicemen, and the officer, risking his life, destroyed it, thereby saving the lives of personnel and military equipment. After repelling the attack, the junior lieutenant led the group along an alternate route, which allowed them to avoid a renewed strike. As a result, the mortar crews were delivered to the required point and helped the assault units advance. The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized the decisiveness and courage of the Kirov officer, thanks to whom the soldiers survived and were able to complete the combat mission.
