As reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor, in the 37th week of this year the Kirov region saw an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), and the epidemic threshold was exceeded. However, specialists did not say by how much; they added that the rise in incidence is linked to the end of summer holidays and vacations.
The agency also noted that predominantly non-influenza viruses are circulating in the region, and it recommended getting vaccinated against influenza. More than 90,000 people have already been vaccinated, including over 45,000 children.
