In the Omutninsky District, a family built a ship with scarlet sails on their plot of land.

An unusual structure has adorned the Laletina and Porubov family's property in Osokino. A wooden ship hull about 6 meters long has been installed on the grounds, with two masts and scarlet sails. A gazebo has been arranged on the captain's bridge, and the structure is illuminated in the evening, reports the Omutninsky District newspaper "Nasha Zhizn."

The idea belongs to Marina Laletina — an Honored Teacher of Russia and a teacher at a school in the town of Omutninsk. She admitted that she had long dreamed of a ship with masts and sails, inspired by Alexander Grin's novel "Scarlet Sails."

Her husband, Alexander Porubov, a welder at the municipal utilities enterprise, took on carrying out the plan. He made the hull and masts and also assembled the bridge.

Now, residents note, a new symbol of dreams and romance has appeared in Osokino, reminiscent of the famous work by Alexander Grin, a native of the Vyatka region.
