Kirov residents admitted that messaging apps "eat up" a third of their working time.
Messaging apps are becoming an increasingly significant part of Kirov residents' workday. According to a study, on average messaging takes up 28% of employees' time. 12% of workers spend more than half of their day on chats.
At the same time, the majority of residents (73%) are confident that messaging apps generally help with work. However, the higher the load, the more doubts: among those who spend over 50% of their time on messaging, only 65% view it positively, and 20% already consider chats a hindrance. By comparison, if communication takes up to 10% of the day, it is a hindrance for only 7% of respondents.
Interestingly, women spend slightly more time in chats than men — 29% versus 26%. Young people under 35 spend more time in messaging apps than their older colleagues: 32% of the workday compared with 23% for residents aged 45+.
Despite the overload, companies hardly try to regulate the process: only 1 in 100 employers officially introduce "quiet periods." Most often young people try to cope with the influx of messages on their own — they are the ones who most often put messaging on pause.
