In the Afanasyevsky District, a case of embezzlement of maternity capital has been sent to court.
The Omutninsky Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Kirov Region has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 41-year-old resident of the Afanasyevsky District. She is accused of fraud in obtaining payments (Part 3 of Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to the investigation, in December 2020 the woman decided to cash out maternity capital funds. Under the pretext of improving housing conditions she purchased an apartment, inflating the contract price from 190,000 to 460,000 rubles — exactly to the amount of the maternity capital payment. The money was transferred to the seller, who then returned 270,000 rubles to the accused, which she spent on personal needs.
The woman admitted her guilt and expressed remorse. To compensate for the damage, the court ordered the seizure of her property. The criminal case has been sent to court for trial.
