The head of the Kirov administration, Vyacheslav Simakov, took 16th place in the new media ranking, dropping one position compared with July. The head of the city and chairwoman of the Kirov City Duma, Elena Kovaleva, was in 26th place, falling four places over the month. First place in the August media ranking was taken by the mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin. The top three also included Yuri Shalabaev from Nizhny Novgorod and Ivan Noskov from Samara.
