On August 28, large-scale exercises dedicated to counterterrorism security were held in Kirovo-Chepetsk. Their objective was to practice joint actions by teachers and emergency services in the event of a possible emergency.
The drill was conducted in a format as close to reality as possible. Participants practiced responses to an armed attack on an educational institution and to the discovery of an explosive device. A total of 34 sites took part in the event, and the number of teachers involved in the exercises exceeded one thousand people.
The main venue was School No. 5, where an operational headquarters was set up and all emergency services were concentrated. According to the city administration, teachers demonstrated the ability to act under stress, and the security forces carried out their tasks quickly and in a coordinated manner.
