A Kirov resident has been fined for justifying terrorism on Telegram.
The FSB Directorate for the Kirov Region stopped the activities of a local resident who was posting materials via the Telegram messenger that justified terrorism and promoted the activities of Ukrainian terrorist organizations. A criminal case was opened against M.A. Podoplelov under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for public calls to carry out terrorist activities, justification of terrorism, or its propaganda. During the trial the defendant pleaded guilty and expressed active remorse. Taking these circumstances into account, the Central District Military Court imposed a penalty of a fine in the amount of 400,000 rubles. The verdict has already entered into legal force. According to the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Kirov Region, the measures were taken to prevent the spread of extremist materials and the promotion of terrorist activity.
