Whoosh: iPhone owners can pay with their phones again.
A few years ago, iPhone owners lost the ability to make contactless payments with their phones after Apple stopped operating its Apple Pay service in Russia.
According to RBC, a system has been developed and implemented in Russia that allows iPhone owners to pay for purchases with their smartphones. The product is called "Vzhukh." Payments are processed via Bluetooth instead of NFC, and the purchase amount is debited from the account regardless of the card's payment system.
According to the publication, several major banks are currently testing its technology.
