In the Kirov region, a program allows people to receive tax deductions for participating in sporting events and undergoing medical checkups. The measure is aimed at improving public health and supporting an active lifestyle.
One of this year’s innovations is a deduction for passing the GTO standards. It can be claimed by residents who received the distinction badge for the first time or by those who already have the badge and have reconfirmed the standards. A condition for receiving it is undergoing a medical checkup in the year the tests are taken. The amount of the deduction is 18,000 rubles per year, which allows reclaiming up to 2,340 rubles of income tax.
In addition, expenses on sports and fitness can be compensated. The maximum amount of such expenses eligible for the deduction is 150,000 rubles, and one can reclaim up to 19,500 rubles per year.
The tax deduction is provided not only for adults’ sports activities but also for children’s attendance at clubs. The organization must be included in the official list compiled by the Ministry of Sport of Russia.
