Kirov residents wait up to two weeks for internet connection.

Due to the increasingly frequent mobile internet shutdowns in Kirov, more and more Kirov residents are considering installing wired internet in their homes and apartments. However, high demand has led to long queues for installations.

We called the providers offering wired internet connection services in Kirov to find out how long residents who have lost, or periodically lose, mobile internet might have to wait to get online. It turned out that connection times have increased significantly because of the mobile internet interruptions.

Thus, 2 of the 3 popular providers promised that a technician would come in the first days of September, while the third — the day after tomorrow. Nevertheless, consultants warn that it’s not worth taking too long to decide, as “available slots” are snapped up very quickly.

Note that previously, when mobile internet was not being shut down in Kirov, wired connection times averaged three days.

Recall that in early July of this year the regional government reported that the periodic mobile internet shutdowns are related to ensuring the safety of the region’s population. As the regional government noted, this is a forced measure introduced to protect against drone attacks. “To effectively counter them, a significant reduction in speeds on mobile networks is necessary, which leads to mobile internet shutdowns, as well as disruptions to voice service,” the Kirov region government said.

Earlier we learned whether subscribers can expect a billing adjustment from mobile operators due to being unable to use mobile internet.
