The State Housing Inspectorate requires that residential building chats be moved to the Russian messenger Max.

According to a source, letters instructing a switch to Max were received by the heads of management companies, homeowners’ associations, housing cooperatives, property owners’ associations and private management companies in at least six regions of Russia: Moscow, Tula, Nizhny Novgorod and Belgorod oblasts, Krasnodar Krai and Bashkortostan.

The documents require posting information about the messenger, including download links, on information boards and in the offices of management companies, as well as creating building-level chats on Max where they do not yet exist.

In the letter sent in Bashkortostan, a specific deadline for complying with the requirements was set — by August 25. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, housing and utilities employees were required to report on the work carried out using a special table.

“We inform you about the Max messenger, developed for secure communication and to provide access to convenient digital services from the state and businesses. The entire infrastructure of the Max platform is located on the territory of Russia, which ensures reliable data protection and user confidentiality,” the letter says, reports the Telegram channel “Ostorozhno, novosti.”
