In Kirov, a "military enlistment office" employee deceived a young man.
A 24-year-old resident of Kirov received a WhatsApp call from a stranger who introduced himself as an employee of the military enlistment office. The interlocutor assured the young man that he needed to bring the missing documents and register on the Ministry of Defense website. The code that arrived by SMS the Kirov resident recited to the interlocutor. In this way the fraudster gained access to the young man's account on the Gosuslugi portal.
Later, alleged employees of Roskomnadzor and the FSB began calling the resident of Kirov, saying that the victim's personal account on Gosuslugi had been hacked and that, to safeguard his savings, he needed to transfer them to a "safe account."
Following the fake officials' instructions, the Kirov resident transferred 160,000 rubles via a mobile banking app to the account details dictated to him, after which communication with the strangers ceased. Then the young man realized he had been dealing with fraudsters and contacted the police. A criminal case has been opened and an investigation is underway.
