Reminder: since mid-May Nekrasova Street in Kirov has been closed to traffic from Popova Street to Surikova Street. The street was closed due to work on the reconstruction of the district heating network. The contractor is RegionStroyMontazh LLC. The work on this section was planned to be completed by the end of July. However, by the beginning of August it became known that the completion date had been pushed back to the end of August.
On Monday, August 11, residents of Kirov noticed that the contractor had continued digging the "trench," reaching the intersection of Nekrasova and Surikova streets. At present, because of the ongoing work, travel from Shchorsa Street along Surikova Street toward the former Palace of Pioneers and back is impossible. Motorists who need to get to Popova Street have to drive around the park by the Palace of Pioneers, which has caused major traffic jams on Kalinina Street. Previously some drivers reached Popova Street via Surikova and Shchorsa. Because of the excavations, all vehicle traffic now has to go from Nekrasova via Surikova and Kalinina.
As Newsler.ru learned from the workers, they do not plan to dig beyond this intersection. The stated completion date is the end of August.
