A previously convicted resident of Luza beat a friend with an axe.

      A visitor to the home of a previously convicted resident of Luza, born in 1962, was an acquaintance — a local resident born in 1979. During the consumption of alcohol a conflict broke out between the men, during which the homeowner struck the guest twice on the head with the poll of an axe, causing injuries. Realizing what had happened, the perpetrator himself turned to the neighbors and asked them to call emergency services. The victim was hospitalized, and the assailant was taken to the police by the arriving officers of the internal affairs bodies. The axe was seized. The act has been classified under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; the investigator has initiated a criminal case. The suspect was detained pursuant to Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation. A decision is currently being made on the imposition of a preventive measure in the form of pre-trial detention.
