Russians want to work longer: most do not plan to retire.
The analytical center "AlfaStrakhovanie" provides such data based on a survey of 1,287 people, as reported by "Lenta.ru."
Only 22% of the survey participants plan to live off their savings after retiring. The main reasons motivating Russians to stay at work are the desire to be independent and help loved ones (31%), maintaining social activity (23%), and fear of psychological problems caused by an excess of free time (18%).
Nevertheless, 28% of respondents have already opened savings accounts to build a "financial cushion" for the future — in case it becomes impossible to continue working.
