"Ladushka" and "Enotik": 3 out of 10 Kirov residents name their cars

      According to survey results, 59% of Kirov residents treat their cars practically and do not give them nicknames, referring to the car as "just a piece of iron." At the same time, 3 out of 10 drivers come up with nicknames for their cars. Most often, residents distort brand and model names—"Ladushka," "Zhigulenok," "Enotik" (Nissan Note), "Beetle," "Daga," "Jetočka," "Kayuška," "Aktsentik." Every twentieth person associates their car with an animal, such as a hippopotamus, wolf, bison, boar, or horse. 5% traditionally call their car a swallow. Another 3% use female or male names. 2 out of 100 give their cars nicknames inspired by movie, cartoon, or literary characters. Another 2% use animal nicknames: Druzok, Kesha, Juzha, Reks, Murzik, and others. 1% affectionately call their vehicles girls, babies, beauties, or use derivative names based on car enamel colors: Cherry, Chernish, Snezok, Golubchik, and so on.
