Municipalities will have part of their debts on budget loans forgiven.
The authorities of the Kirov region have decided to write off part of the municipal debt to the regional budget. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Sandalov.
Municipal entities are exempt from paying two-thirds of the debt on budget loans accumulated as of January 1, 2025. To proceed with the write-off, an application must be submitted to the regional Ministry of Finance, along with an indication of how the freed funds will be spent.
These funds can only be used for targeted purposes. They are permitted to be allocated for capital repairs of housing and utilities facilities, purchase and installation of equipment for the utilities sector, modernization of public transportation, and the creation of infrastructure for children.
