From June to September of last year, a 48-year-old woman from Kirov deliberately did not pay child support for her underage son. The woman is employable and was aware of the court ruling requiring her to pay monetary compensation. The total debt exceeded 80,000 rubles.
Previously, the city resident had already been held administratively liable for non-payment of support for her minor child.
A criminal case was initiated against the woman. She was convicted under Part 1 of Article 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (non-payment of child support). The court agreed with the prosecutor's view and found her guilty. She was sentenced to six months of penal labor with part of her salary withheld and allocated to the state.
