Family mortgage adjusted for salaries: Volodin proposed implementing differentiated regional rates

A new system for calculating rates under the "Family Mortgage" program may appear in Russia, taking into account income levels in different regions. This was stated by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin during a visit to Saratov. According to him, the current system is unfair because the rate is the same for both Moscow and Saratov, even though salaries are 2.5 times higher in the capital. This needs to be changed. Volodin proposed adopting a more "socially just" approach: in regions with low incomes, mortgages should be more accessible. This is reported by Kommersant. The idea was also supported by the government — the issue is already being considered by relevant ministries. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin previously confirmed that the government is exploring the possibility of introducing such differentiation. In May, President Vladimir Putin also issued an instruction to develop proposals to increase family mortgage limits depending on the number of family members.
