On August 2nd, in Kirov, solemn events took place to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the Airborne Forces' formation. The ceremony was attended by Kirov Oblast Governor Alexander Sokolov, Acting Mayor Larisa Kopysova, and Kirov Administration Head Vyacheslav Simakov. Together with veterans and Airborne Forces representatives, they laid flowers at the monument to Kirov residents who died fulfilling their military duty and at the bust of Army General Vasily Margelov, the founder of the Airborne Forces. On behalf of the Kirov City Duma, Larisa Kopysova thanked the paratroopers for their work with youth. Vyacheslav Simakov expressed gratitude to both veterans and active Airborne Forces soldiers for their service and support to participants of the Special Military Operation. It is also worth noting that yesterday, August 1st, the 74th humanitarian convoy organized by the "Za Vyatku" Foundation and the Kirov branch of the "Union of Paratroopers of Russia" departed for the Special Military Operation.
