The migration flow has increased in the Kirov region.

Foreign nationals' inflow has increased in the Kirov region. As reported by Lyudmila Glushkova, head of the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kirov region, in the first half of 2025, migration flows are growing, and their structure remains stable: the majority are citizens of CIS countries and visa-required states, mainly from eastern regions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded about changes concerning the duration of stay for foreigners from visa-free countries—they can now stay in Russia for no more than 90 days within a calendar year. Additionally, for certain categories of citizens from visa-required countries, options to extend visas without leaving Russia have appeared, provided they have close relatives who are Russian citizens. According to the agency, currently, 1,394 people live in the region with temporary residence permits and residence visas. There have been 105 applications for new or replacement residence permits. However, in the field of external labor migration, a decline has been noted. Foreign workers make up less than 1% of the total labor resources in the region, which, according to UMWD representatives, does not affect the labor market. Monitoring of migrants' presence and activities continues: over 3,000 inspections have been conducted in six months. Thirty-one cases of illegal employment have been identified, and 27 protocols have been drawn up against employers.
