Oleg Valenchuk: Our gardeners are people with golden hands
Summer is a time of abundant harvests, the aroma of ripe berries, and the pleasure of gazing at the fruits of one's labor. For many gardeners, working the land is not just constructive work but true creativity, where each bed is a canvas and the grown vegetables and fruits are masterpieces. It is precisely for such passionate people that the Union of Gardeners of Russia, led by State Duma deputy Oleg Valenchuk, launched the contest "Who’s More?!"
– We have been married for almost half a century and do everything together with love. Including caring for the vegetable garden, – say the spouses Khairulin Rasim and Rasima from Krasnaya Polyana. – And how can it be without love? All this is for our grandchildren. Every spring, we receive seeds from the Union of Gardeners of Russia. Good planting material and our daily care yield excellent results. The harvest is abundant, tasty, and healthy. We are proud to show it.
The contest is a great way to compete, share experience, and receive well-deserved recognition for one’s work. Anyone can participate, regardless of whether they used seeds provided by the Union of Gardeners of Russia in spring or applied their own planting material.
– This year, from the Union’s seeds, we grew a beautiful, even Nantes carrots, large Bordeaux beets, and the "Harmonist" cucumber, which, as always, is magnificent, – shared Fania Gafutdinova. – Also, this year I plan to harvest a rich crop of grapes.
Participants compare the harvest gathered from a single packet of seeds of each of the five crops: zucchini, pumpkin, carrot, cucumber, and beet. This creates equal conditions for all contestants and allows an objective assessment of the results.
Gardener from Krasnaya Polyana Lyudmila Shchinova did not miss a single session at the Oleg Valenchuk Gardeners’ School. She successfully applies the knowledge gained in practice and is confident she can surprise the competition jury.
– The "Who’s More?!" contest is not just a competition but a wonderful opportunity to exchange experiences, meet other gardeners, and enjoy many positive emotions, – notes Oleg Valenchuk. – Participate and show what Vyatka gardeners are capable of.
It is important to note that every participant in the "Who’s More?!" contest, regardless of their final position, will receive commemorative gifts from the Union of Gardeners of Russia. The winners will receive certificates. Additionally, among all participants, a grand prize will be drawn—a certificate for a marketplace worth 30,000 rubles!
The winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator. It's a pleasant surprise that will make participating in the contest even more exciting. Applications and detailed conditions can be found in the "Union of Gardeners of Russia – Kirov" group on VKontakte.
