A truck caught fire on the Vyatka highway: one person died.
According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Kirov Region, the accident occurred around 15:20 at the 547th kilometer of the Kostroma-Sharya-Kirov-Perm highway. As a result of the collision, both vehicles veered off the road into the ditch and overturned. The truck caught fire. Witnesses' footage shows a small explosion. Nine rescue workers and three units of equipment responded to the scene. The fire has been extinguished.
Preliminary information from the authorities indicates that the truck driver died, and the tractor driver was injured. At the same time, the press service of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Kirov Region clarifies that two people were injured, their identities and the severity of their injuries are being determined.
Police and emergency personnel are continuing to work at the scene. Traffic on this section of the road is restricted. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated. The information is being clarified.
