More than 3,200 cubic meters of contaminated timber products have not been allowed for export from the Kirov region since the beginning of 2025. The last case was recorded on July 23 during the inspection of a batch of coniferous wood in the Orichevsky district. According to the information from the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for Kirov, Udmurtia, and Perm Krai, signs of quarantine pest infection of the Monochamus genus were found in 60 cubic meters of timber intended for shipment to the Republic of Mari El. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of the large black pine sawyer (Monochamus urussovi), the black pine sawyer (Monochamus galloprovincialis), and the small black pine sawyer (Monochamus sutor). All larvae were found to be viable. The cargo owner was issued an order to eliminate the violations — the wood must undergo chemical disinfection. Since the beginning of the year, Rosselkhoznadzor employees have identified 115 such cases. The infected materials were planned to be sent to the Nizhny Novgorod and Vologda regions, as well as to the Republic of Mari El.
