Bastyrkin instructed to report on the investigation after the facade collapse of a building in Kirov

In July, a partial collapse of the façade of an apartment building located on Vorovskogo Street occurred in Kirov. The brickwork from the upper floors fell onto the pedestrian zone—at that moment, a woman and her young daughter were nearby. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The building, constructed in 1957, has long been in a state of disrepair. However, major renovations are only scheduled for 2043–2045. Residents claim to have repeatedly contacted various authorities, but no measures have been taken.

The Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Kirov Region initiated a procedural check regarding the incident. Chairman Alexander Bastrykin instructed acting head of the Kirov office Maxim Kozlov to report on the preliminary and final results of the investigation. The progress of the instruction’s execution is under supervision at the agency’s central office.
