Russians may be banned from feeding stray animals
Members of the State Duma working group on handling stray animals have prepared a package of draft laws, one of which introduces a ban on feeding stray animals near certain locations, including apartment buildings, reports RBC.
"Restricted areas" for feeding also include buildings and structures of medical organizations, sanatorium and pharmacy organizations, cultural, social service, educational institutions, playgrounds, physical fitness and wellness organizations, sports facilities. Regions are given the right to expand the list at their discretion.
According to the publication, deputies have decided to gather additional proposals for wording in this draft law until July 22, after which it will be submitted to the State Duma. Another draft law proposes amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code with penalties for violating the ban on feeding stray animals. This bill will be sent for review to the Supreme Court, as required by law.
