Today, while discussing the activities of the enterprise, the representative of Kirov's "Food and Social Catering Plant" stated that they are forced to cooperate exclusively with suppliers from other regions. The reason is that local companies do not want to work with the plant. "The plant is too bad for them," the speaker attempted to joke about the situation. He added that he is in ongoing negotiations with potential Kirov partners, but it is too early to talk about signing contracts.
It was also mentioned that the catering plant faces a severe staffing shortage. Currently, 334 positions are unfilled. Employees, including the head, have to perform the duties of cooks. The speaker cited low wages, which cannot compare with the salaries offered by private companies.
According to the report, the financial situation of the enterprise is far from ideal, and it is taking measures to cut costs. Specifically, they plan to introduce an a la carte menu so students can choose what they want to eat rather than what they are forced to eat — this will help reduce waste and, consequently, raw material costs.
The deputies evaluated the activity of the enterprise quite ambiguously. One of them inundated the speaker with questions about the legal disputes the plant is involved in (and did not receive clear answers). Another expressed the opinion that the plant's management is noticeably weak and should be replaced. Whether the administration will heed this advice remains unknown.
