
In Kirov, there is a surge in juvenile crime.
It has been reported that over the past six months, there has been a sharp increase in juvenile crime in Kirov. Most of these crimes are related to drugs, thefts, robberies, car thefts, and fraud.
To date, 137 juvenile crimes have been registered, committed by 44 individuals (compared to 38 and 30 last year). The number of drug-related crimes increased from 4 to 56, with offenders rising from 3 to 7. Cases of violence against minors totaled 76, including 20 of a sexual nature (compared to 67 violent crimes last year).
Most crimes committed by teenagers occurred in the Leninsky District of Kirov, with 80 cases registered over six months, committed by 23 individuals (compared to 10 and 11 respectively last year). In contrast, juvenile crime in the Pervomaysky District decreased from 14 to 11 cases, with offenders dropping from 8 to 6.
It was also noted at the committee that some teenagers commit crimes multiple times. For example, a 16-year-old girl committed 28 thefts. Additionally, a young man from the Slobodskoy District, along with his adult brother, committed 25 crimes related to drugs.
Fortunately, no minors were killed as a result of these incidents. However, there are other victims — two teenagers took their own lives.
The number of traffic accidents involving children increased over the year from 12 to 25, resulting in 26 minors injured. Regarding incidents on railway transport, there were nine cases. In two cases, children placed foreign objects on the tracks, and in seven cases, they broke train windows.
