
The first grades of Kirov schools will accept more than six thousand students.
According to the social affairs committee of the Kirov City Duma, compared to last year, the number of new first-graders decreased by 171, while the total number of students increased by 700.
"The trend of increasing student numbers in city schools continues at the basic general education level. This is presumably due to an influx of residents from district areas and other regions," said Arabell Sharigina, Head of the Department of Education.
Sharigina reported that eight schools in Kirov will operate in a single shift in the new academic year. Several general education institutions have second buildings, which allows reducing the number of students in the second shift.
At the committee meeting, it was noted that Lyceum of Information Technology will continue operating in the new school building in Sheveli village. Here, 150 students will start first grade. School No. 24 will be located in the building at 52 Lenin Street.
Currently, enrollment is ongoing for the new School No. 23 in Urvantsevo microdistrict, as well as for the second buildings of Inzhel at Rudnitsky Street and School No. 32 in Kurockina village.
Women of Kirov oppose grades for physical education, art, music, and labor.
Menus by choice will be tested in Kirov schools.
Major renovations are ongoing at the school in Chornaya Kholunitsa.
