In Slobodskoy, a woman will be tried for perjury in defense of her cohabitant.

      According to the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region, the defendant was a victim in the criminal case concerning her cohabitant. The man was tried for causing serious harm to health (Part 1, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), threats of murder (Part 1, Article 119 of the Criminal Code), and use of violence against a law enforcement officer (Part 1, Article 318 of the Criminal Code). During the court session, the woman gave false testimony, claiming that she did not receive her injures leading to serious health harm from the actions of the defendant. Thus, according to investigators, she attempted to mislead the court and hinder the establishment of the truth. Despite her statements, the court found the man guilty, and her testimony was considered an attempt to help the defendant, with whom she is, as clarified by the authorities, in friendly relations. Investigators gathered sufficient evidence of the woman's guilt, and the criminal case has been sent to the court for a substantive review.
