A man received an eight-year sentence for killing an acquaintance.

      On the night of November 12 to 13 of the previous year, a 36-year-old resident of Slobodskoy along with his 50-year-old acquaintance was drinking alcohol in an apartment in a house on Svobody Street, Sovye village. During the gathering, a verbal quarrel arose between them, and the 36-year-old man struck his opponent multiple times in the chest and abdomen with his fist. The victim died at the scene from his injuries. The Slobodskoy interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov region collected evidence sufficient to recognize the 36-year-old man as guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm, dangerous to life, which resulted in the victim's death through negligence). The man was detained during the preliminary investigation. The court sentenced him to eight years of imprisonment in a strict-regime colony.
