Recently, representatives from the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Rosprirodnadzor, Rospotrebnadzor, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Kirov administration inspected the reclaimed landfill area in Kostino. The specialists checked the condition of the site after the completion of the main works.
It should be noted that the reclamation of the landfill took place in 2023-2024. Two landfill bodies were integrated into a single mound. A protective curtain was installed around it, a multilayer screen was mounted, and systems for the collection and drainage of leachate and stormwater were constructed. Treatment facilities and biogas neutralization systems were equipped. Additionally, the workers carried out landscaping of the territory, built an access road, and seeded grass.
Following the inspection, the participants noted that the top protective layer was undamaged, the area was covered with green vegetation, and the treatment facilities and flare installations were operational.
