Following the incident, the Urzhum District prosecutor's office conducted an investigation, which revealed that at the end of January 2025, a utility accident occurred, leaving people along the Yaran Road in Urzhum without water. However, the organization responsible for water supply failed to promptly fix the malfunction and did not even notify the district administration to organize water delivery for local residents. As a result, an administrative case was filed under Article 7.23 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation for violation of utility service provision standards. The Kirov prosecutor's office reports that after reviewing the case details, the company was fined 30,000 rubles.
