Experts revealed what broke down most often in cars this year.
According to experts from Fit Service auto repair shops, the rising cost of spare parts and "consumables" for vehicles is driven by a combination of factors: increased costs of international logistics, high inflation, a project for mandatory labeling of a large group of goods, and the growth of tax and other financial burdens on the auto industry.
As a result of the first half of 2025, on average, each vehicle owner is purchasing 5.4% more spare parts by quantity than in the same period of the previous year: now there are 7.2 spare parts in each average receipt, whereas in 2024 this figure was 6.8 parts per customer.
The most significant price increases in the first half-year were observed for oil drain plug gaskets: a 33% rise compared to the first six months of 2024. Cabin filters and spark plugs increased in price by 13% each. Oil filters and shock absorbers became 8% more expensive, while brake discs rose by 7%. Anti-roll bar bushings and stabilizer struts, on the other hand, became 5% and 3% cheaper, respectively. The smallest price increase was shown by suspension arms: +2%.
Regarding "consumables," motor oil increased by 17%, while other technical fluids rose by 10%.
According to experts, vehicle owners most frequently purchase motor oils, refrigerant, and other technical fluids (lubricants for brake mechanisms, brake fluid, antifreeze). Next in order of frequency are oil filters, lamps, spark plugs, cabin filters, materials for locksmith work, and stabilizer struts.
