Kirov residents appreciated the idea of providing 450 thousand rubles to young families for a mortgage

The State Duma has introduced a bill to support young families. The "A Just Russia — For Truth" party proposes paying 450,000 rubles to families where the second child is born and the parents' age does not exceed 26 years. The money will be used to pay off the mortgage.

According to a SuperJob survey, 60% of Kirov residents support the initiative. 16% are opposed. However, even among supporters, skepticism is common. "The amount is small; it needs to be much higher," say residents. Critics of the initiative are more blunt: "Pure populism! First, lower the usurious mortgage rates."

Men and people over 45 most often respond positively to the proposal — support among them reaches 69%. Among those under 35, it's 56%. Among parents, 69% approve of the initiative, while only 50% of childless people do.

Many were surprised by the strict age restriction. "Why 26, if youth status is now up to 45?" complain respondents. Residents also note that given rising prices and children’s expenses, a single such payment is insufficient to significantly reduce the mortgage burden.
