In Kirov, route number 117 is the leader in fare payments among conductorless buses.
Kirov buses and trolleybuses equipped with a conductorless system demonstrate varying levels of fare payment. The system, which involves passengers paying independently through terminals, does not always function flawlessly. According to JSC "Autotransport Enterprise," one of the highest fare payment rates—approaching 100%—was recorded on route No. 117—from Kirov to Sidorovka.
"Route No. 117 has become an example for others. We see that passengers actively use the terminals on this route, and the payment level is close to the maximum," noted Danil Chikilev, head of the operation service at JSC "Autotransport Enterprise."
In comparison, the number of payments on route No. 54 buses is significantly lower, as confirmed by passenger flow analysis.
On average, revenue loss on fareless public transport systems ranges from 15 to 20%. To address this, the transport company is increasing oversight, especially on routes where transaction numbers are declining.
The system, built on trust, requires responsibility from passengers. Ticket inspectors do not deduct funds multiple times; however, drivers are obligated to issue a ticket for cash payments.
The city administration's press service noted that the successful operation of a conductorless system directly affects service quality and the frequency of public transport. Passengers who follow the rules help make transportation more comfortable and accessible for everyone.
