The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kirov Region, Alexander Panov, paid a working visit to correctional facilities No. 6, No. 17, and the Correctional Center No. 1 located in the Omutninsky district. The main purpose of the trip was to monitor the observance of prisoners' rights.

During the inspections, the ombudsman paid attention to living conditions in residential units, the quality of meals, accessibility of medical assistance, and the availability of necessary medications. Additionally, personal reception sessions were organized in all institutions: prisoners were able to voice their questions and concerns. For each, Alexander Panov provided explanations and legal consultations.

During the visit to IK-17, a traditional mini-football tournament among prisoners for the prize of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kirov Region also took place. Winners and prize recipients were presented with certificates and footballs. The tournament continues in other colonies of the region.

As noted by the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov Region, such visits contribute to systematic work to protect the rights of citizens in places of detention.
